South East Local Land Services (LLS) have produced a summer drought guide available on their website, with guides for feeding stock and managing a budget to feeding in drought.
Senior agricultural advisor Matthew Lieschke said these tough times are not going to end soon.
"We're coming off the back of a tough 18 to 24 months right across the region, the coming weeks and months have the potential to be really trying for people," Mr Lieschke said.
"The forecast doesn't look like it has much rain in it, temperatures are expected to be above average, water restrictions are coming into effect in many council areas and feed may be hard to come by."
More support and drought related information is available through the NSW Department of Primary Industries Drought. The drought hub provides information on available drought assistance; managing during drought; water resources and animal welfare during drought; wellbeing, and; more.
"It is really important that land managers and producers have a plan for how they are going to manage their properties and stock over this period, and that they know help is available," Mr Lieschke said.
The summer drought guide includes information feeding livestock; feed budgets; managing pastures; stock water - estimating and managing your needs over the summer; confinement feeding, and; hay shed fire risk.
The summer drought guide is available in the resource hub newsletter section of the LLS website.
