Yass put out three teams of their own in each category: the mens (Smokin Winnies and Drinkin Tinnies), the women (Mums and Bubs) and the mixed (Smokin Darts Breakin Hearts).

The 31^st year of the competition was played in high spirits and even though numbers were down compared to last year, Yass Touch Association treasurer Bob Monkley said it didn't put a downer on what was another fantastically run tournament.

Teams competed from all over the state including Dubbo, Goulburn, Canberra, Parkes and even some from Melbourne.

"It's been a good weekend even though a few teams withdrew in the last minute," Monkley said.

"Numbers were down a little, but that's understandable, given everything that's been going on with the bushfires and whatnot."

In the men's division, the Yass side finished on top of their group, but were knocked out of in the first round of the Division A finals.

The women's division saw the Yass side finish third, losing in the semifinal and losing to the eventual winners.

In the mixed division, Yass finished second on the ladder, but were knocked out in the second round of finals.

Although all involved were competitive, Monkley said the most important thing was to have fun.

"I hope everyone enjoys themselves and have a good time," he said.

"That's what the tournament is in place for."

The Yass Touch Knockout competition has been running since 1989.
