A woman who died and three other people who were hospitalised after an assault in southeast Melbourne are understood to be related, according to Victoria Police.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested and remains under police guard in hospital.
Four people were found with serious injuries, including a woman with critical wounds at a Narre Warren property about 1pm on Monday.
The 42-year-old woman was flown to hospital and later died, police said.
A three-year-old girl and a 70-year-old woman were also taken to hospital.
The 15-year-old boy with serious injuries was arrested at the scene.
"It appears to involve family members," Chief Commissioner Shane Patton told 3AW.
Authorities are not looking for anyone else over the incident.
