Southern Highlands Division of General Practice spokesman Dr Vince Roche said he could confirm that a positive case had been detected.
However, he said it was not believed that the case "presented a significant risk to the community."
Dr Roche said investigations were continuing into the case.
Earlier today (July 19) Dr Roche confirmed that a case had been detected in a Campbelltown-based doctor who lived in Burradoo.
He told Southern Highland News that the doctor tested positive on Saturday after experiencing mild symptoms.
"The person in question returned to his Burradoo home on Wednesday after working at Campbelltown Hospital," Dr Roche said.

"He said he did not leave his home again until he went for a Covid test on Saturday after experiencing mild symptoms," Dr Roche said.
"His wife and children had also been home for the entire time since he returned from work on Wednesday."
Dr Roche said the wife and children had all since had Covid tests and returned negative results.
"It is very unlikely this case would have had the opportunity to spread in the community," he said.
Both cases prompted a message from NSW chief health officer Dr Kerry Chant that Mittagong and Burradoo were sites of concern for testing during the Monday morning (July 19) Covid conference led by NSW Premier Gladys Berijiklian.
There are currently two Covid-19 testing clinics in the Southern Highlands.
Bowral and District Hospital is open seven days a week from 8:30am - 5:00pm for residents to have a test without an appointment.
Highlanders can make an appointment online to get tested at the Mittagong Respiratory Clinic from 8:00am - 5:00am seven days a week.
Residents were also urged to monitor the NSW Government website regularly for updates.
People can also call the 24/7 national coronavirus helpline on 1800 020 080.
