This week I will be removing my broad bean plants and planting some cucumber seedlings, just the standard Lebanese. For a quick growing vegetable, I’ll also throw in some breakfast radish. These will be ready in a few weeks and add that little crunch and spice to a salad.
I have a few containers that are underutilised, so I was wondering what useful veggie I can grow. Zucchini will go in them, just one per pot. This will provide zucchini to add to any number of dishes for dinner, and remember you can use the flowers as well.
Lastly, do not forget summer lettuce. If you have none planted now, grab some seedlings and some seeds. The seedlings will grow quickly and the seeds will provide the second round. Just keep the water up to them otherwise they will start to go bitter to taste.
