Police said the b-double was heading south past the Yass Service Centre about 2.38am yesterday when it left the road.
The truck hit the safety barrier and slid along it until coming to a stop a little further up the road.
The prime mover, carrying bags of a power used to glue tiles down, burst into flames.
Police said the fire engulfed the vehicle, completely destroying the cab and trailers.
Luckily the driver was able to escape unscathed. He was taken to hospital and treated for shock.
It took fire fighters about half-an-hour to put out the flames. However, the wreckage smouldered for several more hours.
Traffic was completely cut off in the south-bound lane until around 5.45am when one lane opened.
