The 21-year-old beat out a hot field with a time of 10.13 seconds to claim the hat-trick in his pet event at his local rodeo.
"It was really competitive," Bush told the Tribune.
"It's getting tougher every year so it was pretty special to win it again in my home town."
He also finished a close third in the steer wrestling behind Heath Nichols with a time of 5.08 seconds.
Bush was blown away by the size of the crowd and president of the Yass Rodeo Garry Scanes confirmed it was a larger than average turnout.
"Yeah competitors were down but the crowd was up," Scanes said.
"We don't have all the figures yet but there were a fair few more than last year."
Fortunately for the president and event organisers the weather held out.
"We thought it was going to be a problem considering what it was like on Friday but Saturday was a really good day luckily," he said.
The 'bull ride' was again a crowd favourite and fortunately despite the excitable nature of the 900 kilogram beasts "there were no injuries at all". Richard Treanor and Kirk Stanbridge shared the honours.
Wayne Slater, whom the Tribune previewed in the lead up to the event, performed to his usual high standard just being edged into second in the 'team roping' by Heath Litchfield. Clint and Guy Bush were also strong in the event, finishing third and fifth respectively.
The 'saddlebronc' was also a nail biter with Cody Angland, Carl Green and Chris Lappa all finishing level in first place. Justin Searle won the 'bareback' event; Nichole Fitzpatrick claimed the 'breakaway roping' and 'ladies barrel race'; and young Cody Ballard swept the novice bull ride and saddlebronc.
President Scanes would like to thank the Yass Show committee, sponsors, community and suppliers for all the support the Yass Rodeo received.
