It was quite a small field for last Saturday's On Trend Clothing Guzzlers Mug, with some regular Saturday players staying away due to the wet. But surprisingly for the ones that did play it was a very comfortable day of golf.

The course was challenging though, as it was quite wet under foot and tough getting out of the long rough. After all the players had returned from their rounds, it was up to Kirk to decide who was to be the Guzzler for April as there were four players on 68 net. That player was Mick Coggan, who managed a birdie on 18 to secure his first Guzzler from the other 68 scorers of Bill Scheffler, Scott Medway and Wayne Wilson.
The Pennant season for Yass came to a sudden and abrupt end last Sunday with both our contenders going down in close matches. The Encourage Juniors went down to Federal at Gungahlin Lakes four to three, while the Handicap side also went down four to three against Tully Park at Goulburn. Congratulations to both sides for making it that far and hopefully next year they will make it all the way. Also, a big thanks to all the Pennant players that represented Yass this year, although it wasn't one of our better years in the competition, you all represented Yass well.

Dad's Army report for April 3.
The rain held off until the 12 troops in the Dad's Army competition finished their Thursday morning round and Bernie 'The Fence Hopper' Puckett must have been putting in some practice once again as his score of 19 points was too good for the rest of the field and earned him the money. The balls on offer went to Rod Perceval 17 points, Clive Phillips 16 points and after a count back Merv Wright with 15 points. Scoring ranged from 19 down to nine points. All players are reminded that the qualifying rounds for the Dad's Army Championships will commence next Thursday and run for four weeks with the best three rounds counting to find the four best scores to play off.
