Our weekend Pennant side played their last round on Saturday and finished with a nail biting win against Belconnen. Helen MacArthur, Margaret Callaughan, Tracey Thomas and Jess Keith had a hard game. They took the lead by one shot on the 12th end and managed to hang on with a final score of 25-24. Anne Maree Bruce, Kylie Besgrove, Linda Scott and Sue Bush had a really bad start and by the 12th end they were down 4-14. The next end they picked up a three and then another three, that was the turn-around for them and they ended up winning 20-17.
Overall, our Pennant side are sitting in third position behind Queanbeyan and Weston Creek. The semi-finals and final will be held on May 3 and 4, with the venue still to be announced.
In the social games Margaret Callaughan and Janice Harmer had a win over Marion Darmody and Bernice Davis 17-12, while Lorraine Cooke and Elsie Shaw had a draw of 16-all with Phyllis Knox and Lois Macgregor.
The monthly birthday lunch will be held on Thursday April 24 at the Yass Golf Club.
