These include Rotary Youth Exchange, leadership programs, public speaking, citizenship and science workshops, and Interact.
Rotary Youth Exchange provides an opportunity of lifetime where students live overseas for 12 months, stay with host families, attend school and experience a different country and culture.
Yass is currently hosting Norwegian student, Amalie Ringdal Birkhol who has been in town for just over eight weeks. She is attending Yass High and is loving her time in Australia.
The club also has three Yass students overseas – Lara Mitchell in Belgium, Verdi Barberis in Switzerland, and Lucy Bucknell in Denmark, and in 2015 will be sending Cathy Barberis to Austria, and Ally Thurkettle to Finland.
In addition to Youth Exchange, the club recently sponsored four students to the Rotary Program of Youth Enrichment (RYPEN) in Mogo, where students participate in a challenging weekend of self-development and teamwork activities.
Yass Rotary is also particularly proud to have recently sponsored the formation of the Yass Interact club.
