Another great weekend, weather-wise, for whatever people chose to do.

Twenty-two players chose to play golf, and eight bowlers turned up for a game in the Allan Field Memorial Day, organised and sponsored by Monica and family. The golfers participated in an 18-hole Ambrose event which proved to be a very lengthy round for the ones having to watch six balls. Just unfortunate that they had to play in a six.
The first group out, Michael Paterson and Joe Duffy, and John Lee and Chris Glover seemed not to strike any problems (Michael put his drive on the eighth green and Joe sank the putt for an eagle) and finished in good time. Their great rivalry would have kept the momentum going with the group taking all the trophies. Michael and Joe won the scratch event with 63 and John and Chris secured the handicap with a nett 57.5. The nearest the pin trophies went to Lisa White (Curtis) and Ben Glover.
The nine hole events were won by Lil Arabin and Clancy Grigg.
Chris Glover was not satisfied with winning just the golf; he then teamed up with Craig Watson to win a rather informal game of bowls.
Again, thanks go to Monica and family for sponsoring the day.
Next Saturday will be a nine-hole event (check out Sunday) and club trophies are programmed for both days.
Peter Curtis was unable to contest either golf or bowls at the weekend as he had a little spell in the Yass Hospital. Some of his friends said it was excitement after his quick trip to Sydney to watch his team; the Rabbitohs win the football semi final. Hopefully he will be on deck again very soon.
Clive Langfield is home and feeling much better, which is great news.
ITALICS: Until next time.
