Not for the referees or touchies, and certainly not for the poor buggers who've laid everything on the line and challenged their mental and physical limitations throughout the season to reach the pinnacle of club footy only to go home empty handed.
Mr Abbott would've expected that loud and unanimous reception, with the exception of Bob Hawke, it is part and parcel of being the Australian PM at a sporting event. But disappointingly some South Sydney fans also targeted Bulldogs players, in particular prop James Graham.
No doubt they would have been caught up in the euphoria but it was a shame they could show such little respect for their opposition.
Sam and George Burgess were the two best players on the field but the game was teetering on a knife-edge well into the second half due to the efforts of one player - James Graham.
The decider was built-up as Graham v the Burgess brothers and Graham made sure that wasn't just hype, fracturing big Sam's cheek bone in the first tackle of the game.
He continued to lead by example, inspiring his teammates with ferocious defence and strong carries.
When the Rabbitohs got out to an eight point lead with 13 minutes to go, it was Graham who took it upon himself to try and swing the momentum. Sure in both the Burgess and Dave Tyrrell incidents it was his head that did the damage, but it was his total and utter disregard for his own wellbeing that led to Tyrrell being stretchered off and Sam requiring surgery.
Graham is the sort of bloke you'd want to have in your side, he oozes passion and mongrel in equal parts and he deserved better than to be booed while on stage.
For the record, I was cheering on the bunnies, I'm not a die hard fan, I don't have an 'SSTID' tattoo or bleed cardinal and myrtle but I was happy to buy into the 'exile to premiership glory' fairytale.
I just felt for Graham. He was a class above any of his teammates and most of his opposition and the game would have been a very boring and one-sided affair without him.
But well done Souths, it is a great result for rugby league and their long suffering fans.
I wouldn't be suprised to see premiership number 21 open the floodgates again.
