The Snipers cruised to victory against the Royal Pirates in their first limited overs fixture at Joe O'Connor Park, chasing down the Pirates 76 run total without losing a single wicket.
Skipper Dave Field made a half-century and Craig Irwin chipped in to seal the win.
Field, the reigning Yass Cricketer of the Year, showed his form with the willow has carried over, notching a second consecutive half-century and steering the Snipers to their second win. They chased down the 88 run total set by Harden in the 15th over.
Field said the format was a great way for the players to get back into it.
"Yeah it's a good change up and something different that the players enjoy," he told the Tribune.
"And yeah I couldn't ask for too much more from my guys, it was a great start."
Because of the shortened format, Field was not getting carried away with the blistering early form of the Snipers but said there was a quiet confidence in the camp.
"If we can get the full team on the paddock we should give it a shake," he said.
"We've got pretty much the same side as last year so it's just a matter of getting everyone there."
The Pirates then met Boorowa at J A Allen Oval, the newcomers to the Yass A-grade competition.
The short boundaries made for two very high scores, but Boorowa held on as the Pirates fell 10 runs short of the 208 total.
It was an impressive response from Boorowa, who were comprehensively beaten by the Golf Club in their opening fixture at Victoria Park. Adam Forth scored the runs for the Piranhas and had good support from Phil Sparnon and Chris Doyle.
The Golf Club stayed at Victoria Park for their second game with the Bowning Buffaloes and once again proved too strong. Chris Bradley was dangerous with the ball, taking 3/12 from his allotted four overs.
The Buffaloes managed to stay in the middle for the full 20 overs but their 78 run total was chased down with four overs to spare.
The Snipers and Piranhas share the lead of the Bob Glover Memorial Cup with two wins from two. The T-20 format continues in both A and B-grade this weekend.
