Yass Sports Council Secretary Peter Harvey believes the awards recognise the strong sporting culture across Yass Valley.
“I am again looking forward to the awards as it is a great celebration of sport in our community and a way for individuals, teams and clubs to be recognised and congratulated by their sporting peers,” Mr Harvey said.
“Sport is such an important part of Yass Valley life – we have all football codes, soccer, tennis, netball, cricket just for starters and it’s always great to see our towns and villages competing with each other and the surrounding areas.
“We want lots of nominations this year and the Sports Council is encouraging people to nominate those they believe to have shown outstanding performance or made a significant contribution to their club,” Mr Harvey added.
Any member of Yass Valley sporting organisation is eligible for nomination.
Nominations can be submitted by via the nomination form on www.yassvalley.nsw.gov.au or on hard copy from Yass Valley Council’s Administration Office at 209 Comur Street Yass.
