Once the entire field had returned to the club, the top 15 scoring players that were present were out on the course again for a shootout, with players dropping off each hole until there were only two left coming down the ninth hole. It was a sight to see with a group of 20 plus players and spectators following the players, until there were only two left and they were Jamie Roche and Jarrod Clifford. Both Jamie and Jarrod played that hole reasonable well, both having a 5 on the par 4, but with Jarrod’s handicap giving him a double shot, Jarrod was declared the Shootout winner. Well done to Jarrod and all the players that competed, in what is one of the most exciting and spectacular events on our calendar.
On Sunday Tim Smith and Peter Timmer ventured over to Canberra to play in the RMC Open, with Tim coming through to win the Open Championship and Peter winning the Best overall Net award. Congratulation to both Tim and Peter.
In the Legacy Remembrance Cup held the previous Saturday Craig McDermott and Stuart Leahy both came in with 42 points and after the count back, it was Craig who was victorious in winning the Legacy Cup.
This Saturday’s event is the Mixed Foursome Championship and then on Sunday is the Invite a non-member 2 Person Ambrose, with both events being sponsored by Turners Nursery. So members get the ladies organised for Saturday and then on Sunday get your non-member mate sorted to play out on the course for the Ambrose.
