Thank God for the churches, thank God for the Church of England, the Anglican Church, Henry VIII. Thank God they have offered these refugees sanctuary on earth. The High Court should hang its head in shame, save one lone female voice. Australia has an obligation to look after these people, not put them in a detention centre that has best been described by others as “Hell on Earth”, proven to do people harm. This sanctuary has never been tested in Australian law, so will the Department of Immigration send in the Storm Troopers to drag these people out of the churches should any of them take up the offer. It is morally wrong what this Government is doing, simply wrong.

How can this Liberal Government even think to send back damaged children to a hell on earth?
These people who put their lives at risk, and the lives of their children as well, have no choice. They don’t have an Embassy to go to, to apply to come to Australia. All they can do is run, and run as fast as they can and get away as fast as they can from whoever or whatever that is hurting them. Yes some are in it for the money, but again the vast majority are proven to be in need of help. 95% of the illegal people in this country come by plane and most of them are either British or Yanks. The facts do not support the stance this government is applying to these people.
The Department of Immigration is intent on making conditions as hard as they can get away with and it is having deep, deep, deep, horrible effects on innocent men, women, and most important CHILDREN. It needs to stop, so bring on an election, the sooner the better, and let’s throw this heartless, cruel, merciless Government OUT!
Local elections it seems have not yet been called and could be as late as March 2017.
However Federal elections are going to happen this year, so get on the rolls and have a vote, it’s your right.
The Barton Highway, in the seat of Eden-Monaro, will be an election issue in these forthcoming Federal elections. The question will be, "Do you support the proposal to duplicate the Barton Highway, including a cycle way and animal corridors or not?" This highway needs to be fixed and it needs to be fixed now, not in 30 years. This piecemeal approach adopted by Angus Taylor is a nightmare for those who travel on that road every day. The way they built the Majura Parkway was good: build one side, leave the old alone, then build the other, causing the least possible delay to the existing motoring public.
