Police stopped a 24-year-old Canberra man travelling 135km/h on the Barton Highway at 5pm on Friday. A check on his licence found he was disqualified from driving. He will attend court in June and was fined for speeding.
Drink driving
A 34-year-old Yass man was stopped in town for a random breath test at 6pm on Saturday. He blew 0.144 and was charged with mid-range drink driving. His licence was suspended and he will attend court in June.
Car accidents
A 30-year-old man was conveyed to Canberra Hospital at 8am on Sunday suffering serious injuries after his car was involved in a single vehicle accident on the Barton Highway. Police are yet to speak to the driver and are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
A 43-year-old Canberra woman was involved in a single vehicle accident on the Burley Griffin Way at Bowning on Sunday. The woman was travelling in a gold sedan at 7pm when she left the road and collided with a tree. She suffered minor injuries.
