The first Murrumbateman Scout Group is very pleased to announce the completion of our new 105KL above ground water tank at our new Scout Hall located on the Murrumbateman Recreation Ground precinct. The tank has been plumbed into the building’s storm water system and will provide all of the potable water requirements of the new hall.
Completion of this new water tank has been achieved through close cooperation between the NSW Government, Yass Valley Council, Murrumbateman Progress Association, and the Scout Group. The Group is grateful to the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program which provided a grant of $13,200 to assist with this project.
The Scout Group and other community organisations hope to be able to fully utilise the new hall within 12 months when connections to power and sewage services have been completed and when an accessible toilet has been installed. When the hall has been completed it will become the permanent home of Scouting in the Murrumbateman area – providing a functional and very visible home base for our sixty Youth Members and nine Leaders.
Enquiries can be made to: Chris Constance, Group Leader 1st Murrumbateman Scout Group at quack.111@bigpond.com or on 0402038838.

Bookham Show
The Bookham Sheep Show and Country Fair was a successful day held on Saturday, April 30.
Mrs Pat Longley won first prize in the Raffle, generously donated by Bimbi and Kim Turner. The Crochet Rug was won by Mrs Jan Young, donated by Mrs Colleen Waterson, a volunteer with Blaze Aid based at Bookham after the fire in 2013.
As the Show was later than usual, there were fewer sheep entries than in previous years, however, they were all of a very high standard.
Thank you to James Shannon for organising the art section and Philip Cox for the photography display sponsored by Barney’s of Bookham.
Thank you to John Buckmaster for giving his time to come along to judge the vegetable and fruit section, which was also a little depleted due to the time of year.
The beautiful autumn day made it a pleasant time to sit and chat and enjoy the delicious BBQ lunch. Thank you to the two "cooks": Neville Reece and Rob Sims.
The Bookham Red Cross and Hospital Auxiliary appreciate this annual fundraising opportunity given by the local Agricultural Bureau.
