Game on people, game on. Trouble is that it isn’t a game, it’s deadly serious if this Liberal government is allowed back in power. Poor people will be poorer, our hospitals will get worse, the education system will suffer, asylum seekers will continue to self-harm and god knows what it is doing to the children. Black spots for mobile coverage will continue to exist because the country is too big and unless you are in the big cities rural roads will continue to decline. Speaking of roads, ask the Labor candidate Mike Kelly if a Shorten Labor government will duplicate the Barton Highway with a cycle way and animal corridors, ask him. There is absolutely no point in asking the Liberal candidate Peter Hendy, Scott Morrison the Treasurer has not allowed one cent for the duplication of the Barton Highway in his budget. Peter Hendy can say what he likes but under a Liberal government, nothing will happen at all.

You need to vote with your head, you need to have a social conscious, it is not all self-interest, what’s in it for me and to hell with everyone else. You need to think and think hard.
A Green vote is a good vote.
The Greens support the duplication of the highway, as stated. Tamara Ryan, the Green’s candidate for the federal seat of Eden - Monaro, supports the duplication of the highway. Tamara will be in Yass on June 11, outside the newsagency from approximately 9am till 12pm and afterwards, will be available to supporters, friends and the general public at large at the CWA Hall in Banjo Paterson Park. Tamara is contactable by phone 0439 444 088, email edenmonaro@nsw.greens.org.au or on facebook.
This federal election will dominate a lot of people’s thinking until July 2.
However, do not forget we have local elections approaching in September and despite a few letters to the editor criticising the quality of some of our councillors, I admire anyone who is prepared to put their hand up and stand for public office. I might not like what they have to say, or which political party they support but that is something else. I admire them for having the guts to stand.
The Greens are looking for candidates to stand in local elections so if you are interested and want to have a chat about it, please phone 0437 680 020.
The Burrinjuck Greens would like to send their sincere condolences to John Kaye’s wife, family and friends. The party has not only lost a great man, the community has as well.
John, rest in peace sir, rest in peace.
