Planning started weeks ahead with set up trials to see if their newly acquired inflatable movie screen would fit in the Liberty - which it did - like a glove.
Sound checks and safety checks, media campaign and food preparation all ensured a successful event.
Councillor Jasmin Jones was enthusiastic about the youth council's first return of movies to the Liberty.
"For the dead of winter our first revival of movies at the Liberty was a great start. Many thanks to Elders who attended including Pam Bell and particularly Denise Bell for her special welcome to country,” she said.
“Tyahn Bell's authentic artwork assisted our youth councillors create an eye catching chalk ad on the Liberty's giant notice board which was lit up with coloured lights.
"This event is really a culmination of our Youth Councillors efforts to address the issue of bringing back movies to Yass Valley. Youth Council has listened and responded to our community and I hope it is the start of many more movie nights to come."
