The driver was stopped and produced a P1 provisional licence, which reduces his maximum speed limit to 90km/h.
The driver was issued an infringement for an over-45km/h offence and received a six-month suspension beginning immediately.
A friend of the driver attended and collected the male.
The vehicle not confiscated due to the driver not being the registered owner.
About 2.10pm on the same date, another officer witnessed the same vehicle northbound on the Hume Highway at Goulburn.
The vehicle was stopped and found to be driven by the same driver that had been detected and suspended earlier at Collector.
The driver was arrested and returned to Goulburn Police Station where he was charged with driving while suspended.
He was given conditional bail to attend Goulburn Local Court in November.
Rural Crime Week launched
The 2017 Rural Crime Week was launched on Monday October 23 by Deputy Commissioner of Regional Field Operations Gary Worboys.
Deputy Commissioner Worboys said improvements are continually being made to ensure the NSW Police Force can respond to rural crime issues such as stock theft, trespass, and illegal hunting.
“Rural crime prevention teams are about providing support where it is most needed and introducing a better structure for our investigators to perform their duties,” Deputy Commissioner Worboys said.
The establishment of rural crime prevention teams is one of many new operational reforms the NSW Police Force is proposing to introduce to bolster and improve its response to rural crime across the state.
