Graeme Bennett, Vikashni Higgins, Emely Ryan and Samuel Sproule joined 3700 others around NSW in becoming Aussies on Saturday.
Yass Valley Mayor Rowena Abbey welcomed the four citizens and encouraged the entire crowd to read aloud the Australia Citizenship Affirmation.
“I thoroughly enjoyed the morning and felt very privileged to be part of the next step on their journey,” Cr Abbey said.
She said it was a huge move to make for people to decide to become an Australian citizen, not something anyone would take lightly.
Across the state, the United Kingdom had the most people taking on Australian citizenship, with Mr Bennett and Mr Sproule joining them.
Ms Higgins from Fiji and Ms Ryan from the Philippines, were glad to join Australian ranks on Saturday.
Council also gave the new citizens a native tree as a memento of the day.
