At the council meeting before Christmas, the hire business was given permission to operate from 6.30am Monday to Saturday, with maintenance, cleaning or equipment demonstrations to start from 8am.
Nearby resident Abbi Mieog at the open forum asked councillors to consider making the opening hours later, so noise didn’t impact on residents.
“I would argue that this is not reasonable to residents that live nearby,” Ms Mieog said about the 6.30am start time.
Councillor Jasmin Jones attempted to move the start time to 7.30am, with the backing of Cr Michael McManus but the motion was lost.
Cr Geoff Frost said if council was to impose restrictions on operating hours, customers would instead go to the ACT.
“They need to be on site by 7.30,” he said.
