The Landmark Charity Golf Day and Auction was a huge success, with in excess of $40,000 raised for the families impacted by the Cobbler Road bushfire.

Ninety golfers hit the Yass golf course in a 9-hole four-person Ambrose competition.
The mild weather conditions made playing very comfortable and the course looked a picture after good autumn rains.
Players were kept well hydrated by the Landmark Beer Buggy.
Winners of the golf were Luke Brown, James Brown, Adam Forth and Luke Donnelly
Runners up were Adam Danilczac, Mitch Grange, Ian McClean and Graeme Hayden.
Players adjourned to the club house to be shouted dinner and refreshments by Landmark. The dinner supplied by the Yass Golf Club caterers was superb and highly commended by all who attended.
The night heated up with the charity auction conducted by auctioneers Phil Butt, Steve Scroope and Col Medway. Some highlights of the auction included a stud merino ram donated by Bogo Merino Stud, Frances and Andrew Elsegood and Malcolm Peake, purchased by Karen and Lindsay Williams of Yass for $3500; stud merino ram donated by Tallawong Merino Stud, Frank Kaveney, was purchased by Michael Shanahan of ‘Tidbinbilla Station’ Tharwa for $2750; the Sydney Harbour cruise donated by Phil and Leesa Bennett of ‘Garryowen’ Binalong was purchased by Chris Shannon of ‘Talmo’ Bookham for $2000; the Cooradigbee Homestead accomodation package donated by Helen and Ian Cathles was purchased by Bill and Debbie Luff from Adjungbilly for $1100; artificial insemination and semen package donated by Bogo Merino Stud, Tallawong Merino Stud and John Hall from Livestock Breeding Services Yass was purchased by Cavan Station Yass for $2700.
The auction was well-supported by the eager crowd and grossed $24,557.
In addition, a silent auction was also conducted as well as a monster raffle.
The highlight of the silent auction was the hotly contested Intimo lingerie package kindly donated by Stephanie Harding, valued at $100 which was purchased by Richard Buckmaster of ‘Roseville’ Yass for $170.
Many individuals also made cash donations, including a wonderful gesture from Dick Smith of ‘Bowylie’ Gundaroo, who donated $10,000.
Landmark branch manager Jim Colquhoun was delighted with the result.
"All of the auction items, raffle prizes and golf prizes were kindly donated by our suppliers and local individuals and businesses, which was great.
"The support from the Yass community was magnificent but when you come to think of how this community sticks together it was no surprise.
"We still have some money to come in but we will top $40,000, which will be evenly distributed to the 42 families that were impacted by the fire.
"It was a great day for a great cause and best of all it was a lot of fun, and great to see everyone letting their hair down.”
