"WE love you and we miss you. Please come home soon."
It's the heart wrenching plea of Warrnambool woman Anabel Burn to missing husband Michael, who has not been seen since he left his brother's Tarrington home on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking at the Warrnambool Police Station on Thursday morning, Mrs Burn said her husband's disappearance was completely out of character and she could not think of any reason why he had gone missing.
She said their children, Owen, 7, and Christine, 4, had been asking "when is daddy coming home?"
"I know he loves us so much. He's a good husband and a good father. We love him and the kids miss him so much.
"He rang me and said he would be home on Sunday night but not to worry about dinner, because he didn't know what time he would be home.
"I was getting very worried, I waited until one o'clock in the morning and then called the police when there was no sign of him."
Mrs Burn said, ordinarily, her husband would be in constant contact with her, letting her know where he was.
Fifty-year-old Mr Burn had been at his brother Russell's home in Tarrington helping with renovations over the weekend. Russell said there were no "red flags" and that his brother was in a "good mood".
"He was looking forward to getting home to Warrnambool to see Anabel and children," he said "This is completely out of character, he's never done anything like this before.
"I'm just trying to stay strong for my children."

"We are doing our best to support each other. There have been no sightings and obviously, as each day goes by, it's getting more worrying."
Russell said his brother was one of six children and his South Australian-based mother was also very concerned.
"We have all been heartened by the support of everyone on social media, and ask that people keep sharing Michael's image so it remains fresh in people's minds," he said.
"If anyone has any information, or has seen Michael, please contact the police."
Senior Sergeant Russell Tharle of Warrnambool Police said there had been one lead in Horsham, which was investigated and discounted.
He said Mr Burn's interstate connections had also been investigated and South Australian Police had been briefed as part of the search.
There were reports that Mr Burn had driven into Hamilton to buy fuel before heading back to Warrnambool, but Senior Sergeant Tharle said police had been in touch with all fuel outlets and there had been no sign of him.
Mr Burn was last seen on Sunday driving his 2007 silver Holden Rodeo dual cab ute with registration WLV-615. He was last seen wearing a hi-visibility jacket, blue work pants and work boots.
Anyone who sees Mr Burn is urged to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
