Thank you to Mrs Armour for her preparation and activities to mark “Book Week 2014”. Mrs Armour assisted the Year 6 students to present a “choose your own adventure” activity engaging the children in imaginative storytelling experiences. Children enjoyed dressing in creative and colourful costumes representing their favourite book character. Thanks to all our parents for supporting their child’s participation in this event.
Bowning Public School was pleased to participate in Bike Week activities. The goal of Bike Week was to raise awareness of bike safety and rules for riding.
We were one of four schools participating in Bike Week activities organised by Yass Valley Council. The week was launched on Monday September 15 at 10am with a bike safety talk, helmet check and playground ride for those students able to have their bike at school. Council officers and local Police Officers happily addressed the school. Thank you for the wonderful participation for safety always comes first.
School holidays start today and the teachers wish all families a happy and safe break. School returns on Tuesday October 7 in full summer uniform (wide brim hat included).
For parents interested in a placement for their child in the school holiday program, running from next Monday the 22nd to Wednesday the 24th of September, we can always make room for children even if all placements are full. As always we wouldn’t want any child to miss out. For information please leave a message on 0423 771 304 and a call will be returned.
The meeting held on Thursday September 11 was hindered by illness but a lot of information was passed around and provided interest. Landcare is taking steps to help beautify Bowning through plantings of fruit and ornamental trees. A community garden has ticked a lot of boxes and the school is backing up the program with student initiative and involvement. Information can be accessed on request; we are hoping this will really be a wonderful step to a colourful future for Bowning.
To all the families who have or are suffering from this knock-down illness, I wish you well for a fantastic holiday ahead.
Keep well to all.
