Held out the front of the Yass Police Station, traditions such as the laying of the wreath, lowering of the flag and minute's silence were all performed to honour our fallen officers at 11am.
Mr Quarmby told the Tribune it was a special day for officers and their families.
"It's a day when we remember those in NSW and Australasia that have fallen in the line of duty, and to think about the families, friends and fellow officers left behind," he said.
"A positive to take out of today is that we haven't lost anyone in Australasia in the last 12 months, and it just reminds us we need to remain vigilant."
