District Swimming Carnival (head/bold)
The District Primary Swimming Carnival was held last Friday at the Yass Memorial Swimming Pool.
Schools from Dalton, Gunning and Bowning were involved, and Yass Public and Berinba Public competed, too.
One of the organisers Peta Bell said that it was a beautiful day with all the kids performing strongly.
Senior boys champion was Reece Bush, with runner-up Nick Hinds. The senior girls champion was Tori Wilson, followed by runner-up Esther Coates. The 11 years boys champion was Riley Wilson with Dylan Mann coming second. The 11 years girls champion was Ruby Morrisey followed by Tomika Grieves. Rubin Lees took out the junior boys championship with Gus Hinds and Riley Gibbs coming in at equal second.
Junior girls champion was Bronte Anderson, followed by runner up Gemma Phillips.
The champions will represent the Yass Valley in the Dapto Regional Swimming Carnival on March 6.
