Soul Survivor has come to Bowning. Wednesday, Thursday and today children from all areas in NSW have come together to take part in a program which promotes voluntary and community awareness to all youth. In Bowning at the Hall on the back of the toilet block the children have painted a moral, the centre of the piece has been designed by Rheece Pain and depicts Bowning in the spring time colours. On the outer edges is the perception of others in a combined effort to outline the basis of life in Bowning, such as history immersed in fauna and flora. This is a rather large and colourful project created with flourished enthusiasm.

War Memorial
Saturday was a busy day around Bowning not only for local business but for the volunteers faithfully helping the brick layers with the Bowning War Memorial. It was wonderful to see such support for a most deserving memorial and I thank the community for taking an interest and constantly speaking words of praise and respect.
Fungi Workshop
As Landcare has such an important aspect of the community it was impressive to see a workshop being held for interested local land owners. The display was impressive and a lot of time and effort was taken to be informative for all the right reasons. If you would like further information please feel free to contact Kath on 6227 6326.
Fit For the Future
The aspect of attending meetings and absorbing information which to the general public means a lot of confusion makes one slightly apprehensive to speak public but I will. Over the period of meetings I have to say that council has come to the party to a certain extent, of course they cannot divulge all information but to their credit they have tried. What they are asking from the community is quite simple; what do you want from your council and are you prepared to pay for it or would you as a community be prepared to cut back services to cut back on costs and if so, what services would they be. If you have an opinion on this subject and wish to extend your evaluations in a respectful manner please come along to the Fit for the Future information evening Wednesday May 13 in the Bowning Hall at the time 6pm. The meeting only runs for an hour and a half so any questions are best to be written in advance and read out on the night. All questions and comments will be taken away and bought to the follow up meeting and pulled into future discussion and decisions will follow on from there. Please remember this is your Yass Valley Council and you do have a say now and in the future so take the opportunity while it is available.
Pre Meet
The Bowning Progress Association will be holding a meeting the evening before the Fit for the Future Meeting with Council Representatives on the Wednesday. This is a chance for the community to come together as a group and discuss questions as a group that we would like to put forward. I am aware community members previously have not attended meetings due to communication difficulties and personal preferences but this really does include everyone who pays rates and believes in strong communication within our local council and living qualities. Please email bowningevents@yahoo.com if you have any questions you would like to put forward if you are unable to make it on the night.
Keep Well To All
