On behalf of Bowning & District Lions, I would like to thank all the contractors and businesses who donated their time or kind in the construction of the Bowning War Memorial.
Rob Pollack for the concrete slab, Tony Douglas for the brickwork, Rex Edmunds from Contrite, Robertsons for the sand and gravel, Chris Ball for providing the cherry picker and Member for Hume Angus Taylor for the Australian Flag.
Thanks also to Mrs Winterflood for playing The Last Post and the Reveille, Sam Kelly, Yass Valley Council, the Soldiers Club and last but not least Bob Richardson, for conducting the service.
Bowning & District Lions donated a sausage sizzle and drinks for the 128 people who attended and Bowning school students sang Lest We Forget and Advance Australia Fair beautifully.
Personally, I'd like to thank the local Vietnam Veterans who encouraged and supported me throughout this journey.
