The 1915 centenary re-enactment march is on Thursday September 17. The Kangaroo March will pass through Bowning and camp at the recreational ground for the night. In 1915 this recruitment march travelled from Wagga to Sydney enlisting young men for World War One. The new recruits actually camped on the Bowning Public School grounds. At 1pm the Kangaroo March will arrive at the corner of Red Hill Road and Cossack Street to be joined by various groups interested in marching. The march will then continue to the Cenotaph following Bowning Road onto Leake Street to the Hotel, then into Short Street to the Village Hall. At 2pm the Commemorative Service will take place at the Cenotaph followed by afternoon tea in the Hall.
If you, family or friends have relatives who were involved with the 1915 Kangaroo March it is not too late to be involved. Whether it be memorabilia or photographs, you are more than welcome to bring along or contact Cyril Cox on 0413 476 255 for display.
I wish John Elliott (Dad) a Happy 69th Birthday. We hope you had a wonderful day and felt the love by us all.
Ballet in Bowning will take place in Bowning Hall each Sunday afternoon at 2pm. There is no cost involved and all ages are welcome to attend. For enquiries please phone Cecile after 5pm on 6227 6456.
Keep Well To All
