Last Saturday at the Yass Golf Club, it was one of the most pleasant days that we have had on the course in quite a while and the day’s event was Par. In the A-grade Dom Carmody took the prize with his +2, while the B-grade went to Gary Butcher +3 and in the C-grade Peter Anderson had the best score of the day with his +4. In Sunday's Stableford event Richard Julian backed up his positive round from Saturday with 40 points to take the day money.

The Australian Hotel nearest the pins went to: Blake Partridge 192cm on the 8th and Wilbur Whyte 48cm on the 16th hole. The Yass Valley Tyre Service 11th went to Dom Carmody 377cm and the Mick Curtis sponsored nearest after two shots on the 4th wasn’t claimed.
Sunday August 23: Stableford Event
Winner: Richard Julian (23) 40 points. Ball winners: R Julian 40, W Wilson 39, C Kemp and A Winterflood 38 points. The nearest the pin on the 16th went to Richard Julian 335cm.
Mid-week competition to August 16
Winners: A-grade: Phil White (6) 21 points. B-grade: Ken Rampling (28) 21 points. Ball winners: R Colburn 20, E Mongan, K Pampling 19, W Wilson 18, M Bray, W Whyte, T Kelly and W Scheffler 17 points ocb.
Dad’s Army Competition for July 13
Joe Morrissey showed a clean pair of heels to take the money with 21 points. Ball winners were Merv Wright 18 points, Rod Perceval and Ken Burden 17 points. There were 12 players competing.
