As our Council missed out on the opportunity to be involved in the development of the Liberty Theatre, which might have given Yass a centre for a cinema and performance area, a conference facility and an upmarket restaurant, we have to go to either Canberra or Goulburn to see a movie.
This week we went to Goulburn and, while we were there noticed that petrol was being sold for about 20 cents a litre cheaper than what was being charged in Yass. I can only believe that the price of petrol in Yass at present is a "rip off" and that we are being very poorly treated and seriously exploited by the oil companies.
I actually rang the Yass Council to see whether it might act on behalf of the community regarding this unfair pricing and make a protest on its behalf but this was something that it wasn't prepared to do.
Fit For the Future? What about the present?
