The Jersey Girls led 4-0 at half time from a fine try to Em Banks in the first minute of the game.
With 16mm of rain at Binalong the previous night, the girls had trouble keeping their footing in the cold and blustery conditions. Passes went astray by both sides but the defence of the home side kept the visitors inside their own 40 for most of the game.
Kayla Smith led her team around all day but sister Tioni starred with two tries for the clash.
Tioni is a very dangerous player who can sniff out a try from anywhere.
Jess Abnett and Steph Cribb also kept the Peak Hill defence busy all day and Christie Johnson played well at first receiver.
Madeline Brayshaw backed up throughout while Tara McGrath-West terrorised the opposition throughout the game and got her try 18 minutes into the second half.
Sophie Venrooy and Kayla Paton toiled hard but Paton went off with a painful leg injury mid way through the second half.
The girls now have an appointment next Saturday at Cargo with fourth placed Eugowra in the elimination semi-final.
The Jersey Girls defeated the Golden Eagles two weeks ago with a well executed 22-6 win.
The side is a chance of playing the looser of the second versus third match, the following week.
The Brahmans Calves have the week off before their next match at Trundle on Sunday September 4. The Calves finished top of the table, claiming the minor premiership after a convincing win against Trundle on August 13.
The talented young side has been dominant all season and finished its 2016 Woodbridge Cup campaign strongly against Trundle.
The Calves are a real chance of a premiership this year and the Brahmans club is hoping to attract as many supporters as possible to cheer them on.
Meanwhile, the Yass Valley’s other all-girl outfit, the Girlpies, will also head to the minor semi final in Canberra this weekend.
The Yass Magpies League Tag side faces off against Tuggeranong at Raiders West Belconnen on Saturday.
The Girlpies had the weekend off after Woden forfeited their most recent match.
Magpies secretary Lisa Wylie said the girls are a very good chance of claiming a victory.
“They will put up a strong fight in the match, which sees third play fourth in a sudden death game.
“All players are on deck and everyone is hoping for a good game. Cocah Ben [Wylie] is very confident,” Lisa said.
