“O’Conner still has the turf covering the synthetic pitch from the AFL season and council hasn’t been able to get machinery on the field to remove it due to soft ground conditions,” lead coordinator Andrew Swaffield said.
The outfields of other scheduled grounds are also wet and will need time and time to dry.
”It will be a wait and see for the revised date but we are aiming for the 8th of October. We apologise for any inconvenience and will keep you posted on a revised date. At this stage, hopefully early October,” Mr Swaffield said.
With the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting further showers on two days in the next week, confirmation of a new date remains unknown.
