The board also focused on a number of new and existing projects in the region including the Yennora Wool Sales Relocation Proposal, agri-tourism and tourism initiatives and ways to work with regional industry to maximise international freight opportunities at Canberra Airport.
On Tuesday, the board visited the Poachers Pantry and Majestic Mushrooms before a business dinner at Ewe’n Me Restaurant in Yass. Following dinner, Mayfield Mews, a tourism/restaurant facility located in Bowning, spoke on how it had benefited from participation.
On Wednesday, the board toured the South East Livestock Exchange (SELX) in front of their meeting at Mayfield Mews.
“It was an extremely busy agenda for RDASI, and one that allowed the board to focus on the Yass region’s businesses,” RDASI Chair Mark Schweikert said.
“I think the board was able to gain a greater understanding of the issues facing Yass, including how the programmes we’ve delivered in the past are benefiting local participating businesses.
“We value our networks and partnerships and thank them for their assistance in 2016 and, with their continued assistance, we look forward to achieving continued gains in 2017.”
