Dahle was on a mission of sorts, and carried a poster of dreams – as dozens in the audience did.
Dahle’s poster, which she waved from her sweet spot in the crowded front of stage general admission area, had three requests of the superstar: Sign my arm for a tattoo, play Jersey Girl, dance with me.
And, lo and behold, she got Springsteen’s attention amidst the chaos of a huge crowd and his constant movement on stage. He did not sing Jersey Girl, but he bent down and signed her right arm with a texta she had supplied. It was caught on camera and shown on the big projection screens adjacent to the stage.
“I've been trying to get my arm signed since 2013,” Dahle said in an email. “I already have Jersey Girl tattooed on my right wrist and wanted Bruce's signature next to it.”
Dahle got the signature tattooed in Sydney on Sunday morning, the day after the show.
“Because of the sweat (being in front, jumping up and down for 3 hours) the signature had already started fading,” she said. “We had taken a picture of it so the tattoo artist had something to go by. She did an awesome job, I'm really happy with the result.”
Dahle emailed the Herald from New Zealand where she attended Springsteen’s concert in Christchurch.
