More than 40 firefighters were called to the Milton Road brewery after thick black smoke was seen billowing from the building just after 5pm on Tuesday.
Roads around the inner-city brewery were closed during peak hour as crews battled the blaze, which caused a traffic nightmare for motorists.
Pedestrians were stopped from walking along Milton Road and police were called in to control traffic that had backed up to Caxton Street.
An hour after crews were called, a QFES spokesman said all the people in the building were accounted for and the fire, which had broken out in the boiler room, was under control.
A spokesman for Lion, the company that owns XXXX, said despite the fire, there would be "no disruption to supply".
XXXX were providing an electrical engineer to check the area and a QFES fire investigator was expected to visit the brewery today.
