Youth Council, Yass Valley Council, Turning Wave Festival and young people in the community will host ‘Light up the Valley – Yass Valley Youth Talent Fest’.
Councillor Nathan Furry, member Youth Valley Council said the initiative is based on the Night in the Lane event, a former youth event in Yass. “We’ve decided to expand that to villages of Yass and to not only leave it to music but also other types of talent,” Cr Furry said.
The initiative is calling on Yass Valley youths with a talent they would like to share with the community. “If you have a talent – singing, dancing, drama, circus or anything else – we would love for you to show it to the Yass Valley,” it said on Facebook.
In 2017, the event will be held across three towns.
- September 1: Bowning
- September 8: Murrumbateman
- September 15: Yass
‘Light up they Valley’ is open to all between 12–25 years old in the Yass Valley. Entry forms and more information (including the venues and times) will be released at a later date. Youth Council encourages those interested to begin their preparations.
