“So many fantastic students cheering each other on and taking home many medals – a great sense of participation and tips on what to work on in the new year,” the club said in a statement.
“So proud of the great sportsmanship and courage shown by all of our students.”
Instructor Greg Olsen, who also graded to third dan recently, said the Yass competitors – about eight in total – showed great participation.
“They always do and so they extra points for that,” he said.
Olsen said the win was no easy feat, however.
“During day, Queanbeyan was in front until lunch, but the last few events Yass came back and secured the trophy.
“So it was very close,” he said.
“That makes it three of four in a row now.”
The club will now take a break over the summer holiday period after its final grading on Sunday, December 17.
Training will resume the week beginning January 8.
