Unfortunately, most of these incidents are caused by young opportunistic thieves, who cannot help themselves when discovering an unlocked car with valuables in full view.
This was a problem a little while back throughout our command.
However our constant message to lock your cars seemed to get through and these incidents dropped off... until now.
We have arrested a few offenders for this crime so far, so more good police work there, however please help us by locking your cars and securing your valuables out of the sight of would be thieves.

It’s now just over a week or so until Christmas and the festive season is in full swing.
While I’m hoping everyone gets a chance to relax and enjoy themselves, this time of year is well known for people making errors in judgement when it comes to getting behind the wheel of their car.
If you’ve had a few, just don’t drive. Make another plan: travel with a non-drinking friend, call a taxi, or stay overnight somewhere else.
Police will be out in force in the coming weeks, so the chances are high that you will get caught or perhaps hurt someone or yourself.
Until next time, stay safe.
