Southbound traffic is being diverted via the Federal and Barton Highways between Canberra and Yass due to a vehicle salvage.
NSW Transport Management issued a statement to say that motorists should allow an extra 60 minutes of travel time.
The truck overturned at about 12.30pm on Friday.
It was a single truck accident on the Hume Highway, Manton, near the Mundoonan Rest Area. There were no occupants.
It is understood that the single driver was not trapped and was out of the truck shortly after.
Alf Paranihi, Senior Transport Information Manager, said the salvage operation could take some time.
"Looks like the salvage job could go for some time – we’re looking towards maybe 7pm,” Mr Paranihi said.
Emergency services and the RMS are in attendance.
Please exercise caution.
