Very strong and dust-laden winds where whipped up by Mother Nature and made for some very interesting target flight paths.
The day kicked off with the 75 Target Southern Zone Champion of Champions.
Glenn Barton survived a shoot-off with Justin Smith to claim the title and sash for this year.
Justin Smith backed up his solid effort in the shoot-off by claiming an outright win in the 25 Target Single Barrel event.
Smith rounded off a very successful shoot by also claiming High Gun for the day.
With low-light conditions and strong gusty winds, scores in the red were hard to come by, but not for Yass C-grade shooter Kim Turner.
Turner shot a very well-constructed double-barrel section of the first event and returned to the clubhouse with a 25/25.
Well done, Mr Turner.
Despite the unwelcoming weather conditions on hand, it was particularly pleasing to see a lot of new faces at the club. We hope the weather will be a tad more hospitable when these new shooters and spectators return.
