This free session will run from 2.30pm to 3.30pm in the auditorium at Yass Soldiers Club on 86 Meehan Street, Yass.
It will be a great way to gain all the information you need to know about what a stroke is.
The event is aimed at people who are carers or family members of a stroke sufferer, those with a family history of stroke and those connected with others who have suffered stroke.
The presenters will explain the following matters:
- Different types of strokes.
- How to recognise the signs of stroke.
- The steps you need to take to reduce the risk of having a stroke.
The most important piece of information is what to do if someone is having a stroke.
A representative from Ambulance NSW and the Southern Local Health District will also be in attendance to discuss the care provided to patients.
All residents are welcome to attend. Please stay for afternoon tea and conversation.
Remember, stroke can affect any member of the community.
In Australia, stroke occurs every 10 minutes. That adds up to more than 50,000 strokes a year across people of all ages.
