This decision was made after community consultation was undertaken to improve pedestrian safety in the main street.
The trial of this crossing will be monitored by council staff, with a progress report provided to councillors at the August 2018 Council meeting.
The installation of the refuge will occur on Thursday May 31, with Comur Street, between Meehan and Lead streets, closed to traffic during the installation.
The street will close from 7am and re-open at 1pm.
All efforts will be made to have to road reopened to traffic as soon as possible.
The council understands that this road closure will cause some inconvenience to the public and ask for cooperation during this installation.
If you have any questions regarding the installation, please contact the council's customer service team on 6226 1477.
