The Yass Valley Local Community Committee will provide a formal avenue for National Health Co-op members in the shire to provide feedback and advice to its management on the services needed most in the region.
The National Health Co-op is a not-for-profit, member owned co-operative, established to provide affordable and accessible medical and health services to local communities where it operates.
The National Health Co-op provides its members with unlimited access to primary care services.
These services include general practice, psychology, asthma and diabetes education, mental health, physiotherapy, child, teen and aged health, dietetics and counsellors.
The opening of the National Health Co-op clinic in Yass in October 2017 was the result of a long association with the local community.
Many in the community had previously chosen to access services from the National Health Co-op’s Canberra based clinics.
The National Health Co-op has experienced rapid growth in memberships since its establishment in 2010 and now provides primary health care services to over 48,000 individuals.
The National Health Co-op is excited about its expansion into country NSW and is actively working on its national expansion with the aim of making a substantive positive impact on the health of all Australians.
National Health Co-op members in the Yass Valley are encouraged to participate in the inaugural meeting on Thursday June 28 at 6pm in the Yass Soldiers Club, 86 Meehan Street.
The meeting will be chaired by local National Health Co-op director, Michael Pilbrow. Committee positions of convenor, deputy convenor and secretary will be selected at the meeting.
