During the three days, the Yass District Kennel and Training Club (YDKTC) hosted the annual International All Breeds Championship Show.
It had seven international judges (from Brazil, Lithuania, Ireland and Japan) and 1707 entrants of 140 different dog breeds, which was described by YDKTC secretary Melanie Edwards as being “very successful”.
As for the breeds, they came from the local region, as well as interstate.
“It’s a truly international event in our backyard – a great way to promote the region,” she said.
“The show was a huge success despite the freezing wet conditions.
“From the feedback the club and its committee have received from the international judges and exhibitors, they have promoted on Facebook that they will be returning next year,” Ms Edwards said.

The event was officially opened by Goulburn member Pru Goward, Yass Valley deputy mayor Kim Turner and councillor Mike Reid.
Ms Goward spoke about the importance of YDKTC and its hosting of competitors to the area and the importance of the promotion of purebred dogs by the club and it dedicated committee.
She also said that this was a huge event for Yass Valley
“International judges and competitors from all over Australia make this a huge event for Yass Valley,” Ms Goward said.
As well as the event, YDKTC gave the judges a tour of the region. “It was just really nice to take internationals around our country area and show what we could offer in a small community,” Ms Edwards said.
