There will be more than 11 businesses open until about 8pm, selling everything from toys to beauty products, clothing and electronics.
“Last year’s event was well patronised and with many businesses already signed up this year it is looking to be a great night of shopping locally,” Yass Valley Business Chamber member George Southwell said.
Browse businesses including Merchant Campbell, Farmer Armour, Creators Nest, Priceline, Label Love Boutique, Yass Appliances, Yass Newsagency, B&G Plumbing, Travel Compass, Thyme to Taste and the Yass Information Centre.
Yass’ late night Christmas shopping is a great way to give back to local businesses, says Mr Southwell. “It is one thing to be generous at Christmas time but shopping locally takes it to the next level,” he added.
It’s never been more important to shop locally either, with the effects of the big dry being seen in businesses in regional towns, he said.
“When people off the land or [who are] involved directly with the land are doing it tough, the small businesses of rural economies are also directly impacted because people have to tighten their belts.
“So, it is important to support the many hard working businesses in our towns.”
The Yass Valley Business Chamber is also welcoming locals to its annual Christmas party at The Vintner’s Daughter’s in Murrumbateman this Friday.
