Residents have reported a spate of alleged car break-ins on the Yass Notice Board Facebook page in recent days; however, not all have been reported to police.

Residents allege the car break-ins have taken place on Browne, Mount and Rossi Streets and Olden Crescent in Yass on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday night.
There have also been several car break-ins on Merriman Drive, according to Acting Inspector David Cowell, of Yass Police Station.
He said the report suggested the alleged break-ins had been happening all over town.
He encouraged people to report the break-ins to police and to secure and remove valuables from their vehicles.

- Never leave keys in the ignition.
- Never leave valuables in your vehicle. Anything that can be removed is of interest to a thief. Take everything with you.
- Install a high quality alarm.
- Install an engine immobiliser.
- Park smartly - park in a safe, well lit area close to your destination.
- Never leave luggage unattended.
- Never leave tools unattended.
- Keep a record of your vehicle details including your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), engine number and registration number.
- Use a cover over your vehicle when not in frequent use.
- Make sure you have appropriate insurance cover for your vehicle.
