Yass Clay Target Club sees five squads compete in June shoot

The first event set the tone for the day with some good scores achieved across the board with three top grade shooters all managing 25/25.

Visiting shooter Andrew Kearns was one of the three and he went on to maintain his great form in the following events to lock in High Gun for the day. Well done Andrew.

Multiple High Gun winner of late, Dave Crane from Canberra fell at the first hurdle after efforts from both barrels failed to make contact with his very first target of the day.

To be fair to Dave, he did qualify for the AA Grade shoot-off in the single barrel event after a solid 25/25 but his plans of winning suffered a set-back once again when his target avoided any mid-flight damage.

Yass shooters Trina Watchorn and Giulio Serafin got off to a flying start in the first half of the second event with Trina managing the only 75 points clean and Giulio only a point down on 74.

Giulio went on to repeat his effort in the second half to finish as overall winner with a score of 148/150. Great shooting by both.

Paul Watchorn and Andrew Kearns also showed form and were only a point or two behind Giulio at the end of the 50 target event.

Mat Gerstenberg outlasted Dave Crane in the single barrel shoot-off for AA Grade and red scores of 25/25 were produced by Matt Harris in A Grade and Bob Churchill in B Grade.

We now look forward to our popular July 100 Target Championship which consists of 50 double barrel targets and 50 point score targets on July 21.
